I teach senior social studies at Mt. Boucherie Secondary in West Kelowna. In addition to my regular courses, I also teach a Canadian Studies course for our International Students. I'm on the executive of the social studies LSA (Central Okanagan Social Studies Teachers Association), and PSA (British Columbia Social Studies Teachers Association). An important part of my participation in these organizations is helping to ensure that social studies teachers have access to meaningful and relevant professional development opportunities. I particularly enjoy 20th century history and am interested in media literacy and Asian studies. Prior to teaching in SD23, I taught in Japan from '95-'99, and since 2012 I have been working at a summer camp in Tokyo, teaching foosball. I have a BA in history (UBC at Okanagan College '95), a B.Ed in secondary education (UBC-WKTEP at Selkirk College '00), and an M.Ed. in educational technology (UBC-O '10). I am a news and PoliSci nerd.
